About Becki
Hi, I’m Becki Hiebert!
I’m a quality and regulatory consultant in Alberta’s life science space.
Basically that means I help you figure out what to do, how to do it, and how to prove you’re doing it, to stay on the right side of the FDA and Health Canada.
I have an undergrad degree in Chemistry (University of Winnipeg), and started my career at a global pharma company doing hands-on bench research and quality control, before moving into quality assurance. Along the way I also earned my MBA (University of Alberta).
Curiosity and drive led me to various startup roles, and eventually to launching my consulting practice in 2022.
Why do I do this?
• I love it!
• Quality and regulatory matter in a successful business
• Seeing clients “get” how quality and regulatory helps their business excites me
• There’s never a dull moment and always something new to learn
• The dedication and energy my clients have is a source of inspiration
How I Work
Getting quality and compliance right is about clarity, collaboration, and continuous learning. Checklists and spreadsheets are nice but they’re not everything.
My approach is hands-on and practical: I help your team design systems that work for them, simplify regulatory demands, and promote safe, effective products without unnecessary complexity.
I never lose sight of the end goal: products that are safe, reliable, and deliver real value to the people that use them.
What I Stand For
Authenticity
I’m straightforward and transparent. If something is a risk, I’ll tell you. If there’s a smarter path, I’ll suggest it.
Integrity
I do right by clients and patients. Meeting regulations isn’t enough. It's about doing the right thing, even when no one is looking.
Curiosity
Regulations change. Science advances. I stay hungry to learn, to ask “What if?”, to keep finding better ways.
Giving back
I mentor with MedTech Women and RAPS, I engage with women’s and innovation networks like CanWCC and ERIN, and I contribute whenever I can. It’s important to me that as I grow, I help others grow too.
Why Should You Trust Me?
Because I’ve been in the trenches: from bench research to startups to larger firms.
Because I care about what really matters: safety and patient outcomes - not just compliance.
Because I value relationships: I’m active in Alberta’s life science and innovation ecosystems and contribute to programs that help local founders navigate the regulatory maze.
